Raising money to help those less fortunate by creating and selling stunning, one-of-a-kind pieces of jewelry is what inspired artist Lisa Maciejewski to launch Beads for Humanity in 2006. Raised in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and trained as a commercial artist, Lisa’s jewelry can be seen at the Old Market Artists Gallery and Dundee Gallery. Since founding Beads for Humanity Lisa has donated more than $2,000 to organizations serving the poor, including the American Refugee Committee, micro loans to women entrepreneurs in Ghana, and most recently to Constru Casa, a non-profit organization offering basic housing to families living in extreme poverty.
